About the Journal

FORMA is the official English-language, peer-reviewed international journal of the Society for Science on Form, Japan. The journal provides an interdisciplinary platform dedicated to the scientific investigation of "form," "structure," and "morphology" across a wide range of academic disciplines, regardless of whether they pertain to natural or artificial systems.

Main Scope & Target Fields:

  • Morphology and Pattern Formation (biology, physics, chemistry, astronomy, etc.)

  • Mathematical and Computational Modeling (geometric structures, networks, complex systems, etc.)

  • Design, Architecture, and Visualization (integration of scientific form with art and technology)

  • Interdisciplinary Applications of Structural Analysis and Spatial Reasoning (medical science, neuroscience, and other advanced cross-disciplinary fields)

FORMA welcomes original research articles, review papers, and short communications that deepen our fundamental understanding of the principles of "form" in natural and artificial systems, and foster cross-disciplinary dialogue.
